
Kimberly Capron has dedicated over 20 years to serving the students and families of Detroit Public Schools Community District. She began her career as a 2nd grade teacher at Carlton Elementary and spent 18 years in the classroom, teaching various grade levels. Her passion for literacy and student success led her to transition into leadership roles, including Literacy Coach, Content Specialist, and currently, Dean of Culture and Climate at Mumford High School.
Kimberly holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development with a Language Arts minor and ZA endorsement from Central Michigan University. She earned her Master’s degree from Marygrove College in 2000 and achieved National Board Certification in Early Childhood Generalist in 2008.
Outside of her professional life, Kimberly is a proud mother of three: a 25-year-old daughter, a 22-year-old son, and an 18-year-old son.
